Lake Winnie Fishing Report for August 27, 2009

Hello from Big Winnie!

The bite has gotten a little more challenging, walleyes in the weeds for "eaters" on jigs and minnows going by The Rock on the east side, the Bird Houses on the southwest side and Ravens Rocks out to the Clam Beds north of Ravens. The dugout area has had some fish going also. Humps up north have been still going, but weather has them a bit skiddish. Rigs with crawlers or leeches are still the best option.

Pike are getting active. Troll spoons over the weed beds or bigger crankbaits just outside of the weeds. Some nice fish have come in 5 to 8 lbs.

Perch bite is good, though deeper. Most humps have some good fish on them, the fence area has some good ones going also.

Most smaller lakes in the area have good sunnie and crappie action also. Early in the day and later into the evening. Small jigs and grub-tails or small leeches or a bit of crawler are the best choices.

See you on the water!
