Lake Winnie Fishing & Hunting Report for September 24, 2009

Hello from Lake Winnie!

The walleye bite is still very good! The weed bite on jigs and minnows is working very well in 5 to 8 feet of water. Trolling crankbaits in 10 to 15 feet of water is also working good. The bar bite has grown very good also. Rigs from the top of the bars - 15 feet down the sides to 25 feet is where to find them.

The pike are very active right now, trolling bigger cranks or spoons just outside of the weeds.

Cutfoot is good for panfish now also. Sunnies during the day and crappies early and late in the day.

Hunting time is drawing near! Grouse are in the woods in the numbers seem very fair this year. There are lots of leaves on the trees yet, though. It's a little tough to hunt, but you can usually see birds. While you are out scoping out a deer stand spot, bring your shotgun. Waterfowl opens very soon and the ducks are around in good numbers, in the rice. Geese are also here in fair numbers. Feel free to call us to schedule a trip and get some advice on what areas to go to - we're here to help!

Lots of fun things to do at this time of the year at Denny's Resort!
