Lake Winnie Fishing & Hunting Report for October 16, 2009

Hello from snowy Lake Winnie!

Fisherman braving out the cold and snowy weather are catching fish. Cutfoot has a good bite going on right now in fairly deep 15 to 30 feet of water. Rigs and minnow or a jig and minnow. The main lake bite is ok, too, with the in-between range of 6 to 10 feet of water being key. Jigs and minnows are the ticket. Perch and walleyes are being found in the same water.

The hunters are shooting grouse, with the lighter days being the best. Flushes of 6 to 10 birds a day are typical. The duck hunters have been doing ok, too. With local ducks making up most of the shoot. Mallards, Green-winged teal and a few divers that wander in. The northern flights have not got here yet in full force. If mother nature cooperates, they should be around soon.
