Lake Winnibigoshish Fishing Report for July 26, 2011

Hello, from Big Winnie!

The walleye bite remains strong with a small shift to using the tactic of speed. Spinners have been the ticket. Rigs have given way, lately, to using a faster spinner and crawler or leech to get the walleye's attention. Same areas have been hot, but farther up on top of the structures have been the locations where the fish have been located. Bena Bar and Horseshoe Bar are working well right now for good walleye fishing. Also, good walleye numbers are being found at Moses and Moxeys Hole when the wind is right. The north humps have been going well, also.

Change the same rigs over to minnows and you will get plenty of perch. Plenty of perch!

The pike bite is fair. The pike are being found in the weed beds west and north - both locations will be your best bet for pike.

Sunnies and crappies are biting early and late in the day in Cutfoot Sioux and Ball Club Lakes.

There are plenty of cabin and motel room openings at the resort, yet, for August and September. Give us a call to check availability and to schedule a fishing launch.

See you on the water!
