Lake Winnie Fishing Report for August 11, 2011

Hello, from Big Winnie!

The bite remains good for both walleyes and perch. The humps are all going strong, but you have to move around a bit as the bait moves from hump to hump. Hump tops are better for walleyes and the hump basins are better for perch. The main lake bars are still working well, but the fish have crested at the tops of these bars. Try fishing from the edge up to about 13 feet. Some places, fish 200 to 300 yards from the drop. Spinners and leeches or crawlers and rigs are working well. Shallow fishing is going well on Ravens and Stoney Point, with jigs and minnows or trolling small crankbaits.

Pike are starting to move as well.

See you on the water!
