Lake Winnibigoshish Fishing Report for September 8, 2011

Hello, from Big Winnie!

The walleye bite is ok at this time. We have a main lake bar bite. Bena Bar from Big Musky to the Big Bend is going now. Horseshoe and River Bar also have been good. Leeches and crawlers are working best with rigs. The shallow bite is spotty. The rock east of Highbanks goes on and off but is not consistent. The west side has some pockets of walleyes around Sugar Island and Ravens Point.

Also Ravens and the Rock Fence have been very good for perch. Ten and a half inch perch, and larger, can be found with no problem.

Pike have been good trolling cranks just outside the weed line in 8 to ten feet depths have been best.

We are still very warm for this time. Water temps are in the low seventy degree range.

Panfish are going in the smaller lakes in the area. Early and later in the day best.

See you on the lake!
