Lake Winnie Fishing Report for July 6, 2012

Big Winnie is getting back to normal bite patterns after the storms rolled through. Guests are reporting good catches of walleyes in the last few days, as the wind is blowing. Deeper structures remain the norm for walleye presence. The main lake bars, Bena and Sugar and Moses have given up some fish with rigs and crawlers and leeches being the best baits. The humps far north and west have put fish on in the boat the same way.

The perch bite has been very good. Rocky areas the best. Numbers of fish in the ten inch range.

Pike are starting to bite as the tullipee are moving due to the various bug hatches. Outside weed line and on top of the main lake bars and humps being best. Bigger minnows or large trolled crank baits are best.

Time to go fishing.
