Lake Winnie Fishing Report for August 30, 2012

Hello, from Big Winnie!

The walleye bite is still going strong. The shallow weed bite is good from High Banks area through the Reclaim. 8 to 10 feet of water is the best in this area. Start fast, with jigs and minnows. If that technique slows down, switch to rigs and crawlers to take more fish. Bar fishing is picking up with rigs and crawlers. Bena Bar from Little Musky out through the bend is good. Horseshoe and Moses have been good. Bar bite has been better later in the morning. Start at the top in 13 feet depths then down to the 24 foot range.

Pike are moving well. The weeds have produced the best, with trolling fast with larger cranks or spoons.

Perch have remained good biters all summer. Deeper side of humps north and weed fishing in Tamarac or High Banks with jigs and fatheads.

See you on the water.
