Lake Winnie Ice Fishing Report for January 30, 2014

Hello, from Big Winnie!

Ice conditions are getting a bit better. Roads are starting to run further out onto the lake. West side up to Sugar Island, Sugar Bar and River Bar. South side from Big and Little Musky, and up the east side through the stumps to South Moxey. East and north out to the humps off High Banks and Tamarac Bay has a crossing out toward Bowans.

Fishing is a bit spotty yet for perch and walleye as we have had one weather front in after another. Look to that getting better as we are in for a stable stretch of weather. Still catching fish but takes a little more finesse. Small jigs or plain hooks with gold has been working the best. Pike are still going well so you can catch plenty of them with some good ones in the bag.

See you on the ice!
