Lake Winnie Ice Fishing Reeport for February 26, 2014

Hello, from Big Windy ...oops Big Winnie. We have had lots of wind! Most resorts are out making roads, but conditions vary greatly.

The easiest travel conditions are on the west side right now. South and east is the toughest to get around the last few days. Every resort is out working on roads to get people out to fish. Once out in the main lake, you can get around a bit.

Walleye and pike fishing have closed.

The perch bite is going well, though, on the west side, from River Bar around Sugar and up to Ravens Point. Best fishing depths vary from (some days) 5 to 8 feet of water out to the second break, from 18 to 24 feet of water. You can still get out and catch perch.

Call into the resorts you are staying for the travel conditions.

See you on the lake!
