Lake Winnie Ice Fishing Report for March 12, 2014

Big Winnie perch action is going well! Several shore drops are working well, now, within water depths from 12 to 20 feet. The west side areas are Snag up thru River Bar. Sugar Point up thru Ravens Point is good for perch. East side stump field up thru the Saddle has been a good producing area. Main lake bars have some perch moving, also. It seems as if the shore drops have been more consistent, though. Gold spoons and jigs have been the most successful for perch fishers. In deep basin areas, you can pick up some tullibee, also.

Driving conditions are also getting way better! You can drive around most roads as the snow pack has melted down a lot. Watch out for deeper road banks.

Smaller area lakes are getting some people out to catch sunnies and crappies. Evenings have been best with waxies.

The kids "Perch Jerk" went well on the south shore of Winnie last weekend! They had 600+ kids show up for this event. A 1 lb. 12 oz. perch was the winner. All had a good time.

See you on the lake!
