Lake Winnie Ice Fishing Report for December 4, 2014

Hello, from Big Winnie. Ice is moving along well at this time. Most areas are reporting 10 to 12 inches. Four-wheelers are the way to go now. Weather for the next ten days is moderate temps so time to go fishing. We are catching walleye on Bena Bar from Big Musky to the little Musky, evenings have been the best. Bobber minnows, ten off bottom, in 14 to 20 foot of water is working for the walleyes.

Perch are hanging deeper off the same drop, down to 30 feet. West side is going well inside of River Bar. North look to Tamarac Bay in 17 feet of water, for a mixed bag of perch and walleye.

Northern spearfisher are getting very good results in the Mississippi River mouth and also in Third River. Several over 12, with 19 lbs. being the biggest.

See you on the lake!
