Lake Winnie Ice Fishing Report for January 27, 2014

Hello, from Big Winnie. The fair weather pattern has been a turn on for the perch bite. The main lake bar edges are going well now. Look to Long Bar, Center Bar and Moses Bar. The top edge down to about 22 feet have been very good. Numbers of 9 to 11 inch perch are being caught. Throw in a few walleyes in the evenings as long as you're chasing perch.

Pike bite is still crazy with fish on the tops of structures 2 to 5 feet off bottom.

Sunfish and crappie also going well around here on the smaller lakes. Early in the day has been better lately. Look to Big and Little Cutfoot. Third river, Little Ball Club and Round Lake.

Travel is good as we and several other resorts have roads out to these areas. Time to go fishing see you on the lake.

On another note the D N R commissioner has made our Walleye slot change official , Wiini will go to six fish with a protected. Slot of 18 to 23 inches, with one fish of our bag allowed over 23 inches.
