Lake Winnie Fishing Report for May 22, 2015

Hello, from Big Winnie! The bite for walleye has slowed a bit, mostly do to a very cold week of weather. With rain and snow for two days and temps dropping down to 28 degrees, they have a bit of lockjaw. Look toward the end of the week for weather to stabilize. The shiners have moved off shore, out past the first drop in the 20 foot range. That is the area we have been picking some fish up. Jigs run slow or plain-hook shiner has been the best tactic.

Too much action/speed with your walleye efforts and you are into pike. They are still on a hot hot hot bite! We have had some anglers go out for pike and reporting catches of 50 to 75 a day.

Perch are ending spawning, look 6 to 10 feet for them.

Improved warmer temps are on the way so look for the bite to start to warm up, as well. See you on the lake!
