Lake Winnie Fishing Report for May 29, 2015

Hello, from Big Winnie! Walleye are active now! Water temps are warming into the mid-60 range have them on a significant feed binge. Look to the first major shoredrops and the main lake structures. Moxey's Hole from 13 to 25 feet of water. Bena Bar from Big Musky out to the Bend. Horseshoe Bar is also working strong. Tops of the bars at 12 feet have been the best, as fish are cresting the tops and spreading out to feed. When wind, rain or clouds come in, they have been making shallower moves into just outside the new weed growth in 8 to 10 feet of water. West side up from Raven's to Big Stoney have been good for these conditions.

Perch are ending their spawn and are eating well, also. Look to Tamarac Bay, they are going well from 8 to 12 feet of water. The Big Stoney area is good also.

Pike, as usual, are very easy pickings now. Cranks trolled in the 10 foot range or bait fish them with bigger minnows in the 6 to 12 foot range in the weeds.

Panfish are going good in Cutfoot now, look to the north shore weed-edge off Eagles Nest or down into Macavity Bay for early and late crappie action. Sunnies are eating a bit as they are not quite on the beds yet. Time to go fishing!
