Lake Winnie Fishing Report for June 4, 2009

Winnie walleyes are biting good when you can get out. The wind has been playing tricks lately. Seems like new direction every 20 hrs. The shallow shoreline bite still best with shiner jigs and a spot tail in 4 to 8 feet of water. Play the wind as the fish are going well in most areas.

Fishing Locations for walleyes: Make sure to try the west side Ravens, Stoney, Farley creek, Plug Hat and The Rock on the east side. Move along quickley 1 to 1.5mph until you contact fish. Then circle back slow down and work them. Some perch are moving in with those walleyes.

Pike are also in with the walleyes as the shiners are running the 5 to 9 foot range. Bar and hump fishing is spotty, some fish starting deep but mostly slot-sized fish; try rigging with leeches or crawlers.

Panfish are starting to go better in area lakes as the water slowly is warming. We have 58 to 61 degrees now. Time to go fishing!

See you on the water!

P.S. Would love to have you email any fishing pictures you take while visiting Denny's Resort. If you email me with a brief description of who is in the picture, I'll gladly put them into our photo gallery.
