Groceries & Supplies

Less than one mile from the resort, gasoline and common groceries can be purchased in town at the Bena Convenience Store. Incidentally, this convenience store was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. They have simple groceries and a few common items one may need for a fishing trip.

Deer River has larger grocery stores, hardware stores, etc. Deer River is about 20 miles East of Bena on Hwy. 2.

Cass Lake is 20 miles West of Bena on Hwy. 2 and also offers nice grocery stores, hardware stores, etc.

Restaurants

Our lodge only offers frozen pizza that we can toss in the pizza oven for tired fishermen. Of course, we have a full bar with a decent selection of beers and hard liquors.

If you're not staying in a cabin or you aren't prepared to make meals, there are a handful of restaurants not too far away.

The closest restaurant is the Big Winnie Café in Bena. They serve an excellent breakfast and lunch, but often close early and rarely serve dinner.

There's a great restaurant named Gosh Dam Place located at the Northeastern end of the lake (12 miles away) and they provide an excellent menu and great service. They are located just off East Winnie Road to the North of the Winnibigoshish Dam (the source of the restaurant's clever name).

A little bit further and you can enjoy some great food in a sports bar environment at The Outpost in Deer River. And, Deer River has other eating establishments, larger grocery stores, hardware stores, etc. Deer River is about 20 miles East of Bena.
