LAKE WINNIE FISHING REPORT

Hello from Big Winnie.

Perch bite remains good . Shallow fish from the 10 to 14 foot range are the fish being targeted. They are running quite a bit bigger. 91/2 inches and up is common. Perch on the shore drops and the bar drops from 18 to 30 feet of water are more numerous but you have to sort to keep some of them. Fatheads and glow jigs the way to go.

Walleye action still ok through out the cool down in temps. Bite windows a bit shorter. Early and later in the day.

Typical dawn and dusk bite. Fish larger minnows on a dead stick next to a larger jigging spoon. Spoons are bringing them in. We have a couple of great year classes of fish coming through the system now. Fish are running on the smaller side. Fish through the schools and you can pull 14 and 15 inch fish out of these schools .Look to 15 to 22 feet of water just coming off the breaks to put some of these on the ice.

Pike action has been ok though most pike are being caught by perch and walleye fisherman. Target them using large suckers set 3 to 6 feet off bottom.

Time to fishing see you on the ice. Pat
