Hello from Big Winnie. Hope all had a Merry Christmas. Walleye action is good . Algae blooms are making the water dark for this time of the year. Good for the fish and good for catching fish. Spearing has been a challenge though. Walleye action going well. Bar tops from 12 to 16 feet good. Shore drops from 15 in to 11 has been good. Darker water shallower bite. Dead stick baits good. Glow lures way better than shinny . Fat heads if they are larger, or shiners the way to go. P

Merry Christmas from Big Winnie. Walleye action still remains consistent. Main lake bars and some humps has been the best bet. Fish the top edges from 14 down to 20 feet. Glow jigs and minnows the best way to go . Cloudy days slower bite all day but not as aggressive. Sunny days look toward evening from 4 pm till well after dark. We are making ice on Winnie. Slow and steady. We are now 11 1/2 inches on the low end. Warmer temps have slowed ice making a bit. Fishing is going on. Atv machines the way to go. Walleye bite starting to get more consistent , evenings from around 3 pm till 8 pm the best time. Dead stick bigger minnows 1 to 3 feet off bottom and wait them out. Look to the main lake bars for most of the action . Fish the tops in 14 feet down to around 23 feet. When the fish move to the top the

Hello from Big Winnie. We are making ice slow and steady. Sitting at ten inches . We have been out to Big Musky and the island. The east side up to just shy of the reclaim. All at least ten inches. Walleye bite is still going on late in the day. Be set up by 3pm and fish into dark. Dead stick minnows has been the best. The cloudy days have put them on a slower bite. Hello from Big Winnie. Ice conditions are going well for this time of the season. We are at 9 inches on the bottom end of the spectrum. We did freeze up on a hard wind . We have some rough ice to deal with. We are letting atvs and sleds out at this time. Check in with the resort you want access from. They will give you up to the minute conditions. Walleye action is OK. You can catch a couple a night from 3 to about 8 pm. Bite is not on fire yet. Bigger minnows dead sticki
