Lake Winnie Fishing Report 07-12-2018

Hello from big Winnie.

Walleye action still gong fair , but early and later in the day has been more productive. Look to the humps on the north end of the lake . Trolling spinners and running plain hook rigs tipped with crawlers or leeches. Fish are off the sides most of the day hours with short moves to the structures several times a day to feed. Early and late evening they move on top and stick around longer. Warm water temps and mayflies have made running smaller crank baits a good option for reaction bites. Few fish are still getting caught in the weeds .

Perch are getting active . The main lake bars have a bug eating population of fish eating all day. Fish the with jigs and minnows. 15 to 25 feet of water works well. The fish eating perch are running the weed edges from the shore drop around 5 feet out to the deep edge in 12 feet. Jigs and minnows also the bait of choice.

Pke have been still going good with the deeper weed edges best from 8 to 12 feet. Large minnows or large spoons trolled has been the best way to go.

Water temps n the mid to upper 70 degree range now. Most weed beds are in great shape and full up. Time to go fishing.
