Hope everybody had a great Thanks Giving.
Soon we can get into some ice fishing. We have 4 1/2 and 6 inches of ice now. Froze on a wind so it is rough. You have time to get all your gear ready . Auger blades sharp, pack your ice cleats, ice picks and rope. If you do not have one of the many floats coats available have a life preserver with for a couple of weeks. Soon the ice will be good for travel.
Early ice look to the shore drops for perch . Fish from 8 to 12 feet of water. Keep it simple. Minnows and small jigs . Finicky fish you can put pieces of minnow on the jig.
Walleye anglers should fish similar areas but in the low light times. During snow or early and the later part of the day into dark. Clearer water can make for very good twilight fishing.
We will be on the ice regularly . Look for ice updates soon. Pat.
