LAKE WINNIE FISHING REPORT

Big Winnie has now 10 to 12 inches of ice. We are sitting with about a foot of snow on the lake. Soon roads will be opened up. Sleds and atvs are the way to travel.

Walleye bite has been good early and late in the day. Dead stick a minnow , and next to that jig a spoon and a minnow to attract then in. They will take the dead stick. Fish the shore drops in 10 to 18 feet of water. Main lake bars fish the same.

Perch are being caught from the 5 foot shorelines out 10 feet. These fish are minnow eaters. They are on the move . You need the chase them they are the larger fish.

The deeper drop fish in the 15 to 25 foot range are more plentiful but you need to sort them a lot more.

Pike fishing has been good . Tip ups set with suckers are putting plenty of pike on the ice.Just outside old weed lines in the 8 to 12 foot range is a good place to start.

Time to go fishing. Pat
